Favorite Episode

Here I'm going to write reviews of my favourite BtVS or Angel episodes that feature either most or all of The Fanged Four.

Season 5 - "Fool For Love"

Plot:

This episode starts of in the graveyard, Buffy is fighting a vampire that looks likes it has come back from the 80's. Buffy slips and the vampire uses her own stake to stake her. The vampire holds her against a crypt until....... Riley to the rescue! Riley throws the vamp against the crypt then the vampire runs away.
Back at Buffy's home the next day Riley is patching Buffy up. Both Buffy and Riley are thrown that it only took one vamp without any extra supernatural powers to injur her. Dawn runs in to warn Riley and Buffy that her mum is comming. Joyce comes in and asks if they have been disinfecting something. Dawn says its her's to cover for them.
Later that night Riley and the gang, excluding the injured Buffy are on patrol in the graveyard. Riley makes a movement with his hand signelling something to Xander, Willow and Anya who are all wearing bright clothes and eating a bag of chips. Xander shouts to Riley "Hey Riley, whats the (Xander does the hand movement) all about?" Riley replies "It means that you're all real loud so the vampires that don't know were comming have a sporting chance!" Xander says to Willow "See, now he's all mad." And Willow whispers to him "It's 'cause you were doing all that yelling mr. Stealthy Pants!"
Back in the Magic Shop Giles and Buffy are reading the preivious watcher's diaries to find any accounts of the slayers last battels and how they were killed. The diaries are useless so Buffy decides to turn to spike for infomation. Spike is bribed into telling Buffy how he deafeted the two slayers he killed in the past.
Spike and Buffy are sitting at a table. Spike notices that some creature got a taste of her. Spike says that he'll only tell Buffy what she wants to know if she orders him a plate of buffalo wings, Buffy replies "Were you born this big a pain in the ass." Spike says to her "What can I tell you baby, I've always been bad!" This scene cuts to a scene in London in 1880. William is sitting in a room at a party writing poetry about his one love, Cecily. William asks a man if he can think of a suitable replacement word for what he has written. The man takes William's poem from him and reads it out to everyone, people laugh at William and he walks of. They do a play on words, the man says "I hear they call him William the Bloody because of his bloody awful poetry." Then someone else says "I'd rather have railroad spikes through my side than listen to that. William goes and sits next to Cecily and talks to her. Cecily asks William if his poetry is about her and he says "Every last syllable." He explains how he feels to her and Cecily says "You're nothing to me William, you're beneath me."
William storms out onto the street and he bumps into Angelus who is walking with Darla and Drusilla. He tells Angelus to "watch out" and "look where you'r going." At this piont Drusilla sees spikes potential.
The next scene is in a Barn. William is crying inside, Drusilla walks in she talks to him then she makes him a vamp.
Back in 2001 Riley is sneaking around the graveyard he walks up to a crypt with a load of vamps inside. The vampire who staked Buffy is inside the crypt doing an impression of what happened to her.
Riley walks in, dusts a few vamps, pulls the pin out of a grinade and drops it. Riley runs out of the crypt and boom, 80's vamp in orbit! (sorry, I had to add and change that quote from Dawn!)
It's 1880, we're in a mine shaft in Yorkshire. Angelus is really angry with Spike for the fact that he was the reason him and his women were in the mine. (If that sentence made any sense at all !?) Angelus and Spike are about to fight (I love this quote from Darla and Dru,)
Darla: "I think our boys are going to fight."
Drusilla: "The King of Cups expects a picnic but this is not his Birthday."
Darla: "Good point."
Angelus is about to stake spike but he withdraws. He says "If the angry crouds don't get you, the Slayer will." Spike replies "What's a Slayer?"
Back in the Bronze Spike says "After that I was obsessed. Most Vampires were scared of the Slayer."
Spike goes on about how it only takes one good day for one of the thousands of vampires in the world to have a good day, to kill the Slayer.
Now we go back to the Boxer Rebellion, China in 1900. Spike is fighting the Chinese Slayer in a temple. Spike gets his scar on his eyebrow from this fight (I hope I'm not the only one sad enough to notice that!) Spike kills the Slayer and him and Dru feed. Spike and Drusilla meet up with Angelus and Darla. Dru tells Angelus and Darla what Spike's done and Angelus is worried, Dru can sense his fear but she thinks it's comming from the humans around them. Angelus says "This rebellion's starting to bore me." And they leave. We see Angelus and Darla walking together with Spike and Dru following them like children, Spike jumps over something and smiles -this bit with Spike jumping is shot in slow motion.
The Bronze- Spike talks to Buffy again about how much vamps want to kill her and about how when he means to hurt her his chip kicks in and when he doesn't it doesn't. He puts on his vampire face and hits Buffy. They go outside and Spike tells Buffy how he killed the second slayer.
The scene cuts from 2001 to the tube train in New York in 1977. We see Spike and the Slayer fighting. We then cut to Spike acting out to Buffy what happened and the scene keeps cutting between 1977 and 2001. We see Spike kill the Slayer. Spike says something to Buffy, he then says about him and Buffy dancing and that thats all they have ever done. He then asks her to dance, Buffy replies "Suppose I did, Spike, it wouldn't be with you. Buffy pushes Spike to the ground and says "You're beneath me." She throws his money at him and walks off leaving Spike upset and angry.
We are back in Spike's crypt. Spike searches through his chest to find a rifle. Spike says to Harmony that he's going to kill Buffy. Harmony tries to stop him because she knows Buffy would quite easily kill him not to mention the ouch factor from the chip in his head.
Spike heads out of his crypt for Revello Drive and the scene cuts to somewhere in south America in 1998. Spike and Drusilla are having an arguement as Spike had seen Dru flirting with a Chos demon and he was fed up of it. Dru knew Sike loved Buffy even before he did so she left him.
Back in Sunnydale, 2001 Joyce Summers is packing a bag of her things. She asks Buffy if she knows where the shampoo is and Buffy asks Joyce where she's going she replies "I was hoping to put this off but you know the nothing I've been dealing with the past few days, it turns out it might not be just nothing. I'm going to the hospital to have a C.A.T. scan."
Buffy goes outside onto the back porch, Spike approaches with a loaded gun. He's about to shoot Buffy
but he sees her crying and he goes and sits next to her. Spike asks Buffy "Is there anything I can do?"And Buffy replies "I don't want to talk about it." Spike pats her on the back and sighs.

Comments:

This episode is brillant! I love the flashbacks on Angelus, Darla, Spike and Drusilla past together and in this episode there are lots of them. This episode is very funny and has some brillant quotes.

Quotes of the episode:

Dawn: "So did I just pull a Slayer related Mom cover up thing?
Whos the man? Go on...."
Buffy:"You are, a very short, annoying man!"

Dawn: " When can I go patroling?"
Buffy: "Not until you are never!"
